Your first two paragraphs are confusing because they are contradictory. Consider revising.
HAVE A LOOK AT THESE COMMENTS TOO:
-There IS a serial dog KILLER killing cats in the city. OR, DO YOU MEAN: "THERE ARE A SERIES OF DOGS BEING KILLED BY CATS..."
